The truth told.
The untold stories of the Reconstruction Period, during and following the Civil War, have been buried in the annals of history for too many years while many of the often mis-told and misunderstood stories are still taught to our children.
The Second Founding of America: Reconstruction Era is a not-for-profit corporation, working in collaboration with The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. Our mission is to uncover the truth and to tell and teach missing parts of our nation's history. Click on the picture below to learn more.

Sharing Common Ground
SHARING COMMON GROUND is leading the engagement of Middle School students (grades 6-8) in discovering stories buried in American history. These young people are led to uncover, learn about and interactively share with each other (along with families, friends and communities) the untold and often mistold stories of freed slaves and their suffering and achievements in the Reconstruction era during after the American Civil War.
Net proceeds from the sale of this book go to funding The Second Founding of America: Reconstruction Era and the Reconstruction Education Network.
